I live in California. My whole family has health insurance. BUT I am from Oklahoma, a deep red state, where they havent signed up for the ACA. And just this week, I lost a high school classmate, who committed suicide. Why? He got cancer and didnt have health insurance. To spare his family from becoming bankrupt from all it would cost them for medical care through the months/years before he died, he killed himself to spare them. This is sick.
