I live in Iowa, and it never gets easier to drive in the snow, you just have to have common sense while driving in it. Just cause northerners deal with the snow more doesnt mean were better at driving in it. But really , I dont think there was any reason for this to escalate to these extremes. They have the weather channel down there dont they, they knew this storm was coming..they could have started salting the roads before the snow started, which would have helped with the ice..now that they waited until everything melted and refroze, the salt trucks cant hardly get to these roads because of the amount of people who are stuck on the roads. I do feel for those who were stuck overnight..but come on now, common sense..when the roads are icy, take it slow. I drive in the snow and ice daily, just cause I live in Iowa..doesnt mean I wont drive 20 mph in a 65 mph area, just to get home safe.
