I look forward to the decision(s) of the SCOTUS on Prop 8/DOMA. I am on the record as being against any form of discrimination in the USA. On this particular issue, DHS is going to become more of a destination city, and this news only increases the need for cosmopolitan and responsible higher level financial management as a welcoming city that is a shining example of non-discrimination in a free America. The additional economic development to the area is not disputable, and this marketing of our city is to be trusted to persons who understand the sensitivity of welcoming guests to a destination city that exemplifies non-discrimination. As an economist, financial counselor, and a successful contact for economic development, I look foward to discussing opportunities for local businesses to expand and capitalize on a broader economic base that comes with this new legislation. My comments on this ruling concern economic issues, as I am not a civil rights attorney. My views regard the expanding economic base we can access with the proper attitude.
