I looked into her eyes and saw the same look I once had. The look of sadness. A haunted look. The whole body radiated an edge. A wall up. Her life was my past. A reminder of how far I have come, but how much I still have to go. A reminder of what Im here to do. A reminder that I too have a past. To not look down on her or people like her, for that was me..and praise be God that He reached me in time. The reason I hold onto Him morning and night. Devouring His word. Clinging the Bible tightly to me. Because I never ever want to experience that haunted look again. The desperation..emptiness. I wanted so much to reach out and wrap my arms around her. To look her in the eyes and say I get you. Dont give up. God loves you. Stay strong. Your not alone in this fight. With Him, anything is possible. The emptiness will turn to being full of joy,love. That haunted look will disappear. Just give it all to Him and He will do a total makeover of your life and you. A remodeling of your dreams. A bank account of love that never is empty. I may not have done this. But I will as time goes on, continue to befriend people like her..because thats me..Ive been there and thats what God has asked of me. I know this now. To much has been given much is to be expected. He asks me to help all those that suffer like I once did. To give them the assurance that He gave me. To bring them Home. To bring them to Him, where His arms are open wide, waiting to shower them with love. So always remember where you came from. Dont forget your past. Use it to help someone else. Dont hide it in shame but rejoice in how far youve come. :) maybe today you can make difference in someone elses life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. Galatians 5:14 For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
