I lost some of the beginning shots of putting the body together - TopicsExpress

I lost some of the beginning shots of putting the body together and roughing out the neck but heres a guitar Im building for Peter Mulveys 4th annual Lamplighter Sessions at Club Passim. Im calling this one Coalburner since its made from Cherry, Osage, Adirondak, and Locust. Ill be burning some coal and a lot of lamp oil trying to get it done in time. For the guitar geeks out there, you can see its ladder braced with an Osage bridge plate, Cherry back and sides and an Adirondak spruce top. Its based on the rare 12 fret Ditson Size 11. I went with a longer scale length than standard, 26, because thats the scale of an amazing 1930s Galiano I recently restored that was a similar size and shape. The neck is also Osage (1 7/8 nut) which was a late choice and could make or break the instrument - well find out at 7pm this Sunday at Club Passim. Many other builders from The New England Luthiers will have guitars at the show too. Come on down, its a grand old time!
