I lost the trail while hiking to the falls last weekend in pine canyon, so I followed the creek, and awakened a napping black bear! He saw me first & when he began running up the hill I caught a glimpse. It was a frightening experience! He was the largest Ive seen, and I think has grown larger in my imagination. My boyfriend didnt believe me because I didnt get a picture, but on our way back I decided to place a cairn to mark the trail for others, and there he was again! I wish I could have gotten closer...
