I love Christmas and all it represents to me. I may not have expensive decorations but I have memories. Every year I get out the same decorations because to me they mean something. Whether it is the scary Santa and plastic reindeer my mom had on top of her cardboard fireplace. Or the gifts Ive received from coworkers, whether store bought, handmade, or handed down to me. I enjoy looking back at the picture of Adam on the ornament he made me in school or the ornament Sam won me in an auction in his classroom. I have decorations that remind me of family. Like the carolers that my mother in law gave me and the peppermint candle my sister gave me. I love the ceramic Christmas tree my grandma made me and the ornament quilt my sister in law Chris made me. I hang a bell on our light every year that came from the wedding of a good friend. I still put out the little hallmark Christmas tree we got for a wedding gift almost 25 years ago. I line my mantel with the nutcrackers that Kirsten gives me every year and cant wait to open my newest this year. And this year we made new memories with the leg lamp light we got when we went to The Christmas Story House. And the ornament Gary bought me in Gatlinburg when we visited dad this summer. All of these decorations are memories to me that I get to revisit every year. I hope you all make new memories this holiday season that you will have to look back on for Christmass to come.
