I love Halloween. Tonight I experienced a joke that was in very poor taste. I was at the Portsmouth movie theater watching The Judge and a very large man carrying a machete dressed as Jason walked in and to the front of the theater and sat down. People really thought they were going to be killed. About 15 people left and did not come back I missed about 15 minutes of the film because of the commotion. Afterwards my husband and I decided to call to see if the theater was involved with it or if it was just a customer playing a joke. I spoke with someone who said he was the general manager. He was extremely unprofessional. He said they had invited in the cast from Terror in the Trees to scare their audiences. There are so many things that are wrong here. Instead of saying he was sorry for the confusion he told me it was people like me that ruin everything and asked if I called the police. Im saddened by this distasteful event. Im a big advocate of Portsmouth and think its a great place to live. People like this make it very hard to defend the area. So beware of you go to the movies. I guess you dont have to worry about being massacred. Im sure the people in Colorado thought it was a joke too before 12 were killed and 58 injured.
