I love Opelousas and St. Landry parish. It is and has always been my home, and my choice of where to live and raise my family. Ive traveled a bit, in the states and abroad, and have to say that there really is no place like home. The elections are behind us. Lets support our elected leaders, help to be sure that they hear our voices, and lets take an active interest in our community. I know the Christmas season is here and wholeheartedly want nothing more than every family to focus on celebrating Christ and teaching the next generations. After all, thats what this time is about. But, after the first of the year, I challenge every member of our community to commit to something, one thing or several, to make a difference in our community. Come up with an interest to and connect with others or facilitate the birth of something new. Either way, get your ideas for outreach, for change, and for positive effects for our community and lets make it happen. If you need a hand brainstorm, to organize, or just to get a starting point, please feel free to contact me and Ill give what I can and connect with others with similar interests and intentions. For now though, lets let go of politics, agendas, etc. Lets let go of the influence from various forms of media, and focus on each other, celebrating our Savior, and loving our family and friends.
