Its time for the developed countries to come down hard on the systematic oppression, mutilation and murder of women and girls in the world. The Internet and modern transportation have made the world small enough that tradition and religious nonsense are not adequate to explain the cruelty women are subjected to. I hope somebody - Hillary Clinton comes to mind - will jump on this issue and bring the rest of the United Nations to demand that all countries - this one included - their unconscionable treatment of women and girls.
