I love chasing silly goals and dreams. By silly, I dont mean - TopicsExpress

I love chasing silly goals and dreams. By silly, I dont mean trivial, I mean ridiculous, things others might not even consider because they are improbable, against the odds, and ruthlessly difficult. The one thing I love more than achieving these things, is seeing my friends and family succeed in the same pursuit. It was early 2010 when I first met Josh Spector. He was a triathlete, complete with the spandex, shaved legs and matching outfits (save that signature pink hat). I probably judged him, a little. But here we were, preparing together for his first 100 miler, the Angeles Crest 100. At the same time, I was preparing for my first Badwater 135, a race that he dreamed of doing, a race he himself had paced the year prior (his buddy ran a time I dreamed of running). The next thing you know, its July. Josh has signed on to pace me for my Badwater dream. I had an amazing crew and team, and Josh was like an excited pup every time he jumped out of the van to run with me, typically for 2 hours at a time. Josh always seemed to jump out of the van when I was in a mental/emotional and physical low point. He was relentless and undaunted. One of the best pacers I ever had by my side. I got to return favor a month or so later at his first hundred miler, a race he obliterated in sub-24. Josh has gone on to become one of the people I admire and respect most in this world. A friend I trust with my life, my darkest secrets, and one whom I share my greatest passions and dreams with. In a few hours, this amazing human being takes the next step in his Badwater 135 dream, as hes toeing the line of his first (hes paced it at least 3 times now). He has a badass crew Sally McRae, Colin Cooley, Billy Yang, and his bro Aaron Spector. Im 100% jealous of the hard work these 4 have in front of them to help get Josh to the finish line in Lone Pine at Whitney Portal. I wish I could be there with all of you. If you want some fuel for your fire, something to ignite your passion or stoke the flames of the bonfire already burning inside you, simply watch these two videos the talented Billy Yang put together about Joshs #BW135 quest. Im presently in tears, and cant wait to follow along from home. I will be rooting for every athlete in the Badwater 135 to have a meaningful, enriching adventure of a lifetime. Ill be pulling extra hard for my friend Josh. #GoJoshGo Episode 1 - MY TIME bit.ly/GoJoshGo Episode 2 - THE ROAD TO 135 bit.ly/JoshsRoadto135
