I love dreaming in Sci-Fi! I remember being in NYC way in the future. It was night. I needed to get to NJ ASAP. I board an Air Shuttle along with others that was shaped like the Flying Sub from the Seaview but in a gorgeous, shiny graphite. As it appeared that the cavernous access to the port was vast, I lost my sense of perception getting to the gangway, being in a hurry who wouldnt? Doors closed. Engines revved, sounding like the ships in Skyline. Port twins pull aside leaving us to view a most heavenly night time sky. OMG! The city is below! Where am I? As the shuttle proceeds to gain its momentum, I press back in my seat. We go and drop over the edge of the tallest skyscraper my mind could fashion, right over the edge! Speed increases, engines whirring, we are heading downwards! Wtf!!! Flying straight and parallel along the building gliding on an electro magnetic field. My heart almost stops, my breathing was labored in both fear and excitement. Just before closing in on the ground we Separating from the wave of energy the ship curves in sling shot like fashion. Im in awe as we sweep across the edge of Manhattan and over the Hudson, leaving the cities lights behind. Breaching the Palisades, the ships direction is the Meadowlands area known as Lyndhurst. The engines unique sound palpates as we descend brushing just over the fragmites of the swampland. As the ship sweeps upwards now perpendicular to the earth, we slowly brake. Our seats are also changing direction as we descend. The ship lites into the receiving dock and it gets surreally quite. I depart with the others in awe! In port and on the Tarmac and I turn around to look back at the NYC Skyline only to see the tallest blackest Twin Towers ever! Lit up with lights reminiscent of Bladerunner, I exhale deeply. Total time this commute all took place? 5 minutes! What a ride... And how was your evening?
