I love free wifi. thank you Hong Kong airport. I suddenly realised yesterday that my flight to Cambodia is with the airline that dropped a plane into the sea and lost it. EEEEK! Just kidding no point in getting excited about the plane. Hong Kong airport 1400hrs 27 05 2014 only 19 hours to take off. Did not get any help with finding a cheap hotel local to the airport so I am going to use plan B. sit in the departure hall for 19 hours. I think that is a record. Unfortunately the flight is just a little bit too early to be able to stay in Shenzhen and cross to Hong Kong in the morning. My recall of how to get a shuttle bus to the airport from the border was flawed so I gave up and took a taxi. $HK 300 instead of $HK 150. well worth it though, dragging a 30kg suitcase round Hong Kong is not high on my wish list for how to spend a summers day. Having a 30kg luggage allowance is all very well but damn that case is murder to drag. To make matters worse the case is in its last days one of the wheels is broken and zips are suspect. Time for a new case next time I travel. Travelling two days early turned out to be rather a waste of time and money. By the time I got to the Shenzhen hotel all I wanted to do was rest instead of spending the day playing tourist in Shenzhen. Never mind I did not have my heart set on seeing Shenzhen, it is not exactly a tourist destination.
