I love how South Africa never tires to penetrate the Kenyan market. Now Times Media Group of SA has acquired a 49% stake in Radio Africa Ltd. I am reading many things.... fierce competition, market expansion, market dynamics, capital sourcing, growing middle class, technology, radio listenership trends, diversity.. I am also thinking about McKinsey’s Rise of the African Consumer report that describes the African consumer as brand conscious, demanding quality plus they are spending more on food than their counterparts in Brazil, India or China. From a career/entrepreneurial perspective, the next 10 years will be about positioning brands in the African continent. Dont limit your skills to Kenya or Nairobi County. Upgrade your knowledge and skills NOW. Companies are and will be looking for people who can figure out how the African market works and how to make them buy.
