I love language. In language, we need ways to change word-types: e.g. adjective -> noun Sometimes, we do this by adding -ness. e.g. Happiness, sadness, coolness, etc. For some of (what I think are) our very old words, we do this by adding -th. e.g. warmth, truth. By adding -th to numbers we turn them into nouns. e.g. fourth, fifth, The fourth sixth son... Interestingly, we used to have many more of these words. There was a time when coolness would have been said as coolth or height as heighth. FYI: Sloth = slow+th, and health = heal + th. (Yes, we can verbs -> noun too.)
