I love make-up. Im obsessed with eyebrows. I love having my nails done, and I always get a color with some kind of sparkle. Im into romantic, flowing clothes with ruffles. I love Jane Austen adaptions. Men in Regency era clothing make me swoon. I love jewelry. The more it sparkles, the more I like it. If it was practical to wear chandelier earrings every day, everywhere, I would. I love beautiful shoes. I love having cute hairstyles. Being a stay-at-home mom was one of the highlights of my life. And during that time, I baked and baked and baked until I perfected the chocolate chip cookie. Ive been told at times Im a girly-girl. I took auto shop in high school instead of home economics (what is that anyway?). I worked at a gas station, doing minor car repairs in high school. I could out leg lift every guy in my senior year. I played electric guitar and played metal. When I was managing a horse ranch, I wore jeans, flannel shirts, and workboots to work every day. Lifting 100lb bales of hay onto tractors and carrying 50lb sacks of grain was a normal day. I love being physically strong. I drove tractors and pulled a 6-horse trailer with a dually. I worked in IT (networking and eventually programming). I installed my kitchen faucet and garbage disposal. I installed the picture rail and baseboards in my living room. I tiled the backsplash in my bathroom. I installed the lighting in my kitchen. And after turning a small chandelier into a craft project, I installed it in my sons room. I put together all the Ikea furniture. I guess you can say at times, Im a bit of a tom-boy. What I am 100% of the time is a feminist. And every day, I am thankful for the women who came before me who paved the path for me to be whatever I want to be. Because thats all feminism is really about, equal opportunity and real choice. So thank you ladies! Thank you for giving me the freedom and choice to put on some lip gloss AND go out into the world and kick some ass!
