I love my country and consider myself a patriot. I was planning to boycott the 4th of July tomorrow due to the recent news of the mass surveillance undertaken by the #nsa I felt betrayed by the abuse the US Govt has carried on against its own citizens and abroad in the name of "national security" the fact that my own country treats me and considers me an enemy has left me deeply disturbed and disillusioned. I dont know where we are going 5, 10, 15, 20 years from now with these domestic surveillance programs and the Constitution being whittled away slowly but surely but I know in my heart that we are on the wrong side of history with this and I cant just stand by and do nothing because of defeatism, fear, apathy and complacency. This Nation was founded on one principle above all: The requirement that we stand up for what we believe in, no matter the odds or consequences, so rather than sulk, get drunk and listen to Hulk Hogans them song Real American on a loop Im gonna go protest downtown with the Restore The Fourth Los Angeles cause in Pershing Square at 1300 tomorrow because it feels like the right place to be and the right thing to do. I urge all of you to get involved in the conversation in some way and MOST IMPORTANTLY get informed! because WE are all in this together. all of US! fight for the future! because its your future too! sorry for the long post and thx for reading Have fun and enjoy yourselves tomorrow everybody and keep on rocking in the free world! while you still can lol #restorethefourth
