I love people who think theyre too busy to say their name when they call the office. Then when I ask them, because its my job, many of them get upset and most seem to believe that they are too busy to say it clearly, even though they already have got me on speakerphone. So I ask them again, because I have to, because that is my job. But they are still under the misimpression that they are too busy to simply use the muscles of their mouth to state their name in an accurate and an audible manner. So then I have to ask them again. And again, they rush through it, on speakerphone, further muffling their speech through gritted teeth or another demonstration of anger they think is intimidating, and adding their firm name as though that will help me with a name I never have heard before. Unfortunately, if you try to recreate an impressionist painting with a paint roller, and watered-down paint, the image will never be clear, and it will become even less clear the harder you press down with frustration, punishing the canvas because that must be why it won’t work...So I ask them again, this time probably explaining that it is difficult to understand them. So they pick up the phone and they say their name into the mouthpiece clearly and at a regular speed. And in those 3 seconds (which is all that it takes to do such a thing), I finally learn what their name is. Imagine that.
