I love showing WS at peace, and illustrating their calm side. Unlike popular media which prefers the action packed fear inducing gaping mouth killer images, I prefer their calmness, curiosity, and connection they make not by rushing at us jaws exposed, but their normal behavior of constant vigilance, holding back and observing before coming in closer... for me they are far more beautiful images, of an amazing ancient apex predator that deserves our respect, and one we are far from understanding as we gain only brief glimpses of its life and try and piece them together... Big daddy (shown below), I photographed in Gansbaai, is one of these magnificent animals
