I love that Google is experimenting (smart contact lens) & buying up Internet of Things products (Nest), but if youre worried about Google spying on you - or having too much access to your private data - then check out this open source solution to Nest. Its by a home brew kit startup called Spark. As I commented on Twitter, if Spark can come up with a user interface for this open source Nest which is as fancy as their blog post (great use of video!), then theyre onto something :)
