I love the Register-Guard. Eugene is very lucky to still have such a fine paper publishing daily. In the past I visited many college towns and many much larger than Eugene had no paper approaching the quality of the Register-Guard. This morning I read every word in the Opinion section and found all the articles and letters informative, whether I agreed or not. (Why is this most interesting section bundled with the advertisements? I usually read it first.) I also read the whole story on ocean acidification on the Oregon Coast. Will our beautiful world be destroyed before climate change deniers admit we have a problem. I grew up near Joplin, Missouri and spent several summers in and near Boulder, Colorado. At least 20 years ago I believed that more energy in the climate system from carbon dioxide in the atmosphere would lead to an increase in catastrophic climate events. I did not expect to see so many so soon, and probably even thought I might be dead before they became serious. I was wrong!
