I love the paradoxical statements in scripture. A paradox is just a statement that at first glance seems completely contradictory, but when examined further, it actually reveals a wonderful truth. Here are few examples…To save your life, you must lose it, or To be exalted you must be humbled -- one more -- To be great, you must be the servant of all. In the end, the scriptures always prove true. And even though the way of the world says you ought to just elbow your way to the top, Gods plan for elevation is through the de-throning of self and the preference of others. At the end of the day, its not all about me. Its about mimicking my supreme example, Jesus, Who gave up His divine privileges to die a criminals death so I could be freed from the just penalty of my own sin. He didnt come to be served, but to serve and to give HIs live as payment for the sins of many. (Matthew 20:28; Philippians 2). Who will you serve today? Dont use your freedom as an excuse to do what pleases your sinful self. Serve each other with love. The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.” (Galatians 5:13-14)
