I love this joke about worry. (Note the amazing Jewish ability to think in terms of the other hand)... Two yeshiva students, Sender and Mendel, were discussing the rumors of war which threatened to engulf all Europe in July, 1914. Mendel was terribly pessimistic about the future, but Sender tried to console him. If I were you, I would not worry yet, said Sender. This entire affair may blow over, but even if there should be a war, you still have two possibilities... You may be sent to fight at the front or you may not be sent to fight at the front. If you are not sent to the front you have nothing to worry about, but even if you should be sent to the front, there are still two possibilities... You will either be wounded or you will not be wounded. If you are not wounded you have nothing to worry about, but even if you are wounded you still have two possibilities... You may be wounded slightly or you may be wounded seriously. If you are wounded slightly you have nothing to worry about, but if you are wounded seriously you still have two possibilities... You may either die from your wound or you may not die. If you do not die you have nothing to worry about, but even if you do die you still have two possibilities... You may either go to the good place or to the bad place. If you go to the good place you have nothing to worry about, but even if you do go to the bad place, you still have one possibility... War may not be declared, so you still have nothing to worry about! From Rabbi Joseph Telushkins book Jewish Humor - see link for more: amazon/dp/0688163513/?tag=engedrescen-20
