I made a difference today. I was in Salt Lake today to have my hair done by the amazing Tressa White. I was on my way to shop at Whole Foods and saw this couple on main st. they also had a little dog with them. They had a sign saying homeless, anything will help. I thought about them as I was shopping and decided to buy them some dinner. I bought a sandwich, some chips, strawberries, two big bottles of water with electrolytes and some treats for the doggie. Oh yeah, and some cookies. I went back, introduced myself to them and sat down on the grass with them. Their little dog, Gizmo. Didnt like me being there at first, so I took his treats out first. And the woman, Margo, had me give him a treat so he warmed up to me. We all talked for awhile and I found out that the man, Glen, was a veteran and has been homeless for 6 months. And she had been kicked out of the YWCA because she didnt have children. They had been staying in a motel room that a friend had paid for, but only until Sunday. Then they were going to try the homeless shelter after that. I had to leave and told them that I wished I could do more for them but they were thankful for the food. It made me feel good that I could help in some small way.
