I made a very special person today as I listened to the passion in the trembling voice of Laura, a lady from Norton, reminiscing about six Mothers who flew home from Kariba to Salisbury on the Viscount Umniati rather than to go by car. It was deemed to be safer for them that way. She spoke about how the six Mothers never arrived in Salisbury and wept for them and their families right there at my exhibition show stand. At the time, she was only 12 and you can just imagine how she struggled with her friends whose Mums were never coming home. We are arranging a get-together for Laura to meet these friends. Her maiden name was MacDonald. This was 12th February 1979. If you came from Norton and knew Laura, please contact me - keithnell@hotmail
