I made it so close, yet i was still so far A light so bright, youd believe it was a star But unlike a sun, it didnt last long, so it fizzled out and died and i gave everything my best, cant say i never tried There was only so much i could achieve, in the time I had trying to clutch dreams and dealing with being a part time dad it was more than too much, some would say overkill calming down my heart beats, with prescribed medication pills which could only prolong the inevitable Making the memory all but forgettable of the good times and fun and any hope i had, of walking into the sun A completely new chapter, with even less restrictions would make me see hope, but alas, ive got my predictions and although i can deal with, the arch enemy of mankind keeping in touch, will be the last thing on my mind With limited time left, a blank face replaces my smile now that i know, ill get to see if god has nice tiles I dont care that i never found happiness or divine and that i never had love, or passed on my shine leaving a legacy, of only being unkind I tired at changing that, so at least i have spine But i was beaten with life, whilst my hands were tied expressing pain and hate, i was more than obliged glad i did it right, making sure i changed the design turning verbal abuse, into pathetic little rhymes if this was a race, guess ill see you at the finish line But before i cross over and leave this place, unable to claim whats mine id like to take a stroll and say goodbye to my son, just one last time
