I made my final Farewell to Barbara Gianmugnai today. As I stared at her casket showered in beautiful flowers, all I could focus on was knowing I shant feel her arms embrace me with her Loving hugs anymore. Suddenly a breeze blew and I heard it whispering in the trees above me. I lifted my weeping eyes to the sky, saw those towering clouds, and I was brought back to a day exactly like this. Barb and I were trail riding, we were in an open Meadow, and she said, Go on Rem, open up, and go fly with Cowboy. I was uncertain, he is really fast when he wants, and I replied, Im afraid...she said so very sweetly, Rem, he loves you, youre going to have to learn to trust him..go on, Ill be right behind you. I leaned in close to his ears, and whispered, lets fly Boy, off we went!!! I kept laughing, and exclaiming, FLY COWBOY FLY!! Barbara!! Were FLYYYING!!! Just like she promised, she was right there behind me. When we stopped to rest the horses, I ran up to her and hugged her until I thought I would squish her. I told her, youve given me and Cowboy the greatest gift EVER!!!. She smiled with her sparkling eyes, and said, this is just the beginning. Alas, now Barbara is flying, and Im behind....I will see you again my dearest friend, I believe youll teach me to fly once more.
