I married into a Hindu family right ! And so many times I hear I am proud to be a South Indian and rightly so. that person in fact is taking credit of his ancestors and relatives or kings and queens . where is his/her achievement in that?? when I hear that I dont even feel like retaliating back saying I am proud to be a Muslim. A bunch of terrorists took away that right from me . Its the most painful thing ever. This movie PK is not bashing a particular religion. Doesnt anyone get that. He is just questioning beliefs. If the director wrote it from his heart he probably wrote what he knows best , probably something that he questioned as a kid like I questioned only beliefs and rituals of my faith and why my parents thought a certain way. I dont know what other parents thought or taught so a script from that perspective would just not be right na?!!. Dont you get that?!!Inspite of being born in a Muslim family where nobody married outside my parents gave me tremendous exposure . If there was an opportunity that they could only afford for one child they gave it to me and not my brother. Anybody should be proud of being a kind, generous ,secular human being. Even if I did say I am proud to be a Muslim?!! What does that even mean. I am just proud to be the person I am today. and what is this propaganda about it being a big hit. it might be but did all those people really take it in the right spirit? Did they come out and say being human is above everything else? in fact they came out and started writing these stupidly long open letters that showcases more hatred than kindness. The plot is essentially lost on most.
