I may have already posted this. Apologies if I have. I know Ive been going on and on about Tony Attwood, but this is another cool thing were working on. You know how i told you kids on the spectrum often have a disconnect with the physiological responses to stress? Along with that is that when we become overly upset, our iq drops by up to 30 points. Doctor attwood taught me a phrase, when youre calm, youre smart. For kids, like mine, who prize their intelligence above most everything else, this can be a great calming tool. The control is back in their hands. :-)
