I meant to post this yesterday Dear. Santa, I know you hands - TopicsExpress

I meant to post this yesterday Dear. Santa, I know you hands are full this year with all the children and parents who are struggling throughout the world. Therefore I kept my Christmas wish simple this year. Now I won’t lie, I’m not feeling the Christmas spirit much this year. Yet I’m not going to allow that to be the reason why I don’t wish the best for all those who aren’t on your ‘naughty list.’ That being said, I really couldn’t think of anything material that I need this year, other than a few dollars. Yeah, Santa a brother could use a few dollars (lol). Then it dawned on me, what I really want for Christmas this year is an overflow of what is right. I want our local and world leaders, men and women, to focus on what is right, and to strive to do what is right and be what is right. With all that is wrong in the world today, Santa, that would be a gift that would last me a lifetime. I recently read a book by Andrew Chongseh Kim titled Beyond Finality. Kim believes that by correcting sentencing errors inflicted upon many criminal defendants America can improve people’s perception of fairness, which would reduce the amount and seriousness of the crimes defendants commit in the future. “The delegitimizing effects of overly strict post-trial procedures may especially acute when criminal justice ‘insiders’ (judges, prosecutors, and public defenders) deny defendants relief from mistakes or misconduct.” Simply put, a refusal to correct mistakes and misconduct handed out to thousands of Americans, especially when obvious and acknowledged errors, suggests that the criminal justice system is not concerned with what is right and makes others less willing to obey the law in the future. Every time I watch the news I am reminded of America’s failure to do what is right, to correct the misconduct of past and present leaders. We are seeing crimes increase in unprecedented fashion. There are those who are enforcing the law who don’t believe the law is fair, therefore they are taking the law into their own hands, further destroying the fairness and integrity of this country. Santa, I pray that your journey is filled with ease this year. While your passing over every home, housing project, prison, court, and government building, make sure you sprinkle tons of what is right over them. I wish you a very merry Christmas!!!! Thank you, Divine Soul!! #SoulLife
