I met a young man today. He was a man of few words but as I stood there talking to him in the rain as he wore nothing but a t-shirt and pants, I asked him where he was from. He told me Lake County. I asked him how he got here, he told me he walked. I said without any shoes? He said yes maam. I said do you have any shoes, he said no maam. I asked if he would like a pair, he said yes maam. So armed with his size I went into the store. They had nothing in his size, so I thought... He was the same size as my hubby! Matter of fact about the same height & size too! So I called Joe & explained him the situation. Because my husband knows I cant walk away from a situation he didnt hesitate! I then called Sabrina Felger, Angela Scott & Deborah Simpson. Between us we filled 2 Army issued weather resistant large bags with blankets sheets pillow toothbrush, toothpaste, shirts, pants, shorts, job interview, clothes, non perishable food, can opener, hot plate of food for dinner, breakfast for tomorrow morning, bottled water etc. Sometimes we need to take a step bake & realize we are all human. I cant tell you how awesome it felt to see the light in Donovans eyes when I introduced myself to him & reached out my hand to shake his. When we gave him the cart full of stuff the endless thank yous & deep breaths were breath taking. Everyone has either been down, one day may be or loves someone who has. We are all human, we are all equal, we are all Gods children & we all deserve a lending hand. Wether it be a stranger, friend or family. I am going through a time where my family is hurting & we are having to rally together to hold eachother up! I may not have a lot bit I have a lot more than nothing! Please lets start a prayer chain for Donovan! Please pass this on! Pay It Forward KCCO!!
