I might be digging my own grave here, nonetheless I will proceed without fear of contradiction. ALSHABAB! A non state actor, crucially amorphous and lethal at the very same time, seems to outwit Kenyas intelligence. Make no mistake, I am not in anyway buttressing their heinous operations. On the one hand, intelligence has been compromised at times by the modern media, whose efforts to communicate an often complex and convoluted message in the briefest amount of airtime or print space possible has led to the promiscuous labeling of a range of violent terrorist acts a success. You might recall Mohamed Alis Jicho Pevu edition that depicted Kenyan military personnel embracing self-help services in a somewhat unfettered shopping spree. Well the effect spawned a hotly contested debate on military ethics whilst most Kenyans rightly condemned the looting which subsequently eclipsed the subject matter-ALSHABAB. On the other hand the Government of the day has satisfactorily led the course on disrupting ALSHABAB as evidenced by the military presence in Shabab hot spot. Withdrawal of military presence in Somalia is a sign of granting ALSHABAB their desperate success. Moreover, it will adequately accord them ample time to regroup and accelerate horrendous attacks. Fellow Kenyans it has been said before by JFK and I will reiterate it here “Don’t ask what your country can do for you. Ask instead what you can do for your country”. It is our time to act. Acting in my own vernacular means defending your religion. Defend it at all cost. The purpose of religion is to control yourself not to criticize others but point out the discrepancies in the Holy text. These terrorists who come in the name of religion should be exposed. No religion demands killing of one another. Both Christians and Muslims should stand and defend their religion. #seethemexposethem
