I miss Flatbush, Brooklyn. The energy, the smells, the not being able to walk in a str8 line down the street. I miss mostly the mix of peoples. I miss being able to go buy veggies at 3am or pigtail out the bucket and Jamaican rum from the veggie stand 4am on a sunday morning. You know in case you feel a cold coming on. I miss never having to pay for weed but I dont miss weed.I miss that nobody gets pissed if you are smoking. I miss that most everyone on Nostrand ave most nights walks around with their own pimp cup and cocktail. I miss how the dollar cab drivers never have no change.I miss not having to drive miles to get hair care products. I miss living in a place that has more than one kind of yam at the market. I miss that the Korean store has nothing from Korea and the Chinese store has nothing from China. I miss being able to buy tube socks and white Ts on the sidewalk by the train station. I miss the noise and I even miss the grumpy checkout girls at Dunkin doughnuts. But I dont miss the !#@$*ing traffic!
