I miss Jose, our head waiter in the Botticelli Dining Room, who professionally overcame my inhibitions about eating more than one entre and, in fact, was quite encouraging about ordering two desserts. Ah, the carefree life onboard a ship. It really makes me think I missed out not serving in the Navy. The massive and frequent high quality meals, the long leisurely strolls on the promenade deck, my own private stateroom, the excitement of standing watch port side forward with powerful binoculars seeking any sign of whales or birds. Except for getting to fly jets, I can’t see why anyone would pick a different branch of service, oh wait, the Navy has jets too.
