I missed the 24 hour deadline on the ALS Ice bucket challenge so I - TopicsExpress

I missed the 24 hour deadline on the ALS Ice bucket challenge so I am donating $100 to ALS, a very important cause that is deserving of the attention and the $62 million+ they have raised this year. I am also taking a page out of my wifes book and going rogue by donating to the charity that has touched my family: our local chapter of the Alzheimers Association Central and Western Virginia. Lori and I have been thinking long and hard about the Walk To End Alzheimers this year - scheduled for 10/18/14. As you may know, our friendly (and fierce) competitors, the team from Rosewood Village, suffered a heartbreaking loss earlier this year. We have not been able to get their family off our minds - they are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. You can read about the Tahboub familys devastating loss here: careisthere/thecaregiverssecret/jaclyn-tahboub (This is especially close to home for us as Loris Nana moved into Rosewood Village in December last year and Rosewood cares for so many of the patients in our area who are living with Alzheimers) We would like to honor Jackie Tahboub and support our friends at Rosewood this year, so we will raise money TOGETHER. Jackie Tahboub played such a key role in their fundraising efforts, and we want to honor her legacy. We hope youll join us as we create Team Brannock for Rosewood Village so that we can work together to help everyone who is concerned about the increasing number of people suffering from Alzheimers. We believe that our teams are stronger together than we are apart. We know Rosewood has pushed us to do more each year and they are one reason we ask so many of you to donate. Now it is our turn to lift them up and we will combine efforts to help raise more money in the fight to save the memory of millions! Last year the national total raised was close to $50 million and wed love to beat that this year! We will be contacting family and friends in the month of September. Your thoughtful generosity is the reason we raise so much money, year after year, in the fight against this horrible disease that took my Mothers memory in 1989, and then took her life in 1994. THANK YOU for supporting Team Brannock. Cary Brannock Milley, Cleve Brannock, Tom Brannock, and Morgan Marie - I am challenging you to do the IBC &/or create your Alzheimers fundraising page within 24 hours! Mary Pat Hanson is a champ and she can help! Love, Dad/Tommy Our donation page is here: bit.ly/1ojkko and well be in touch next month! Best, Tommy
