I moved to my current house about ten years ago; I had an Australian Shepherd, two chow-mix dogs and a black and white cocker. Sadly, Tiffany, Ginger, Tanner and Jackson have departed this world. Along with my red and white cocker Casey. When I first moved here, I noticed a little white dog down the street; she would run and bounce around in her backyard; I learned her name and everytime I walked by there Id talk to her and call her by name. Sadly, now she is also gone along with her human and the other two dogs who lived there together. For the past four weeks, I noticed she was the only one in the yard and everytime I saw her the white coat she has got dirtier. She would sit by the fence and howl low and not bark as she usually did. I found out everyone else was gone from her life and she had a door into the garage and was no longer being able to live in the house as she had most of her prior life. Today she is gone, hopefully to live with someone who will love her as her former owner loved her and who will keep her inside the house and keep her clean. I miss that little dog so much; its been like losing a friend. She truly left her footprints on my heart.
