I moved to the Keys one year ago today. At first I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life. I had given away all my stuff ( Its just stuff ) to my friends. I got here with everything I owned in my van and the place I was going to live fell through. I was homeless at 63 . I stayed with some great friends that I had met over the years. I even called my friends in Michigan and told them that I was coming back. Well just when things were looking real hopeless ( I was sleeping on a friends sofa ) a close friend called me about a trailer that I could rent by the week. I lived in that trailer for two months while I looked for something permanent. I found a little trailer with a Florida room for a really good price.I havent left the Keys in one year. I miss my friends in Michigan, But I have a extended family here that I love.I know now that I was meant to be here. Im not a rich man money wise, but I have things that money cant buy. Im a blessed man. LIFE IS GOOD
