I mulled over many designs for a new pell, then decided that the theme on the farm will be "everything old is new again". Rather than construct some nifty movable, retractable, reinforced, chrome-plated pell aparatus with removable attachments and a compass in the stock I decided to go with a medieval solution. We will have one or two eight inch diameter round wood poles wrapped in 3/4 inch manila rope. I may put a hole in them to hang a shield on a stick from, but other than that I am going with the genuine artifact.
