I must comment here .... because the juxtaposition of the culture of military casualties and financial excesses requires a commentary...our spirits demand it. I must find the words, in my own independent capacity, to weigh in on the circumstances of our day...and my tenuous study of ancient worlds and the documents left behind to those of us in the present requires that I make a comment. Again, that thesis regarding multiple universes co-existing...some people living completely in the present having zero exposure to historic documents and therefore cannot see parallels...therefore perceive our commentary as unkind and unfair and mean-spirited when in fact there have been repetitions in time... remaining silent when I see a train headed over a cliff has many validations. If someone wanted to see the Athenian population destroyed (for historic reason) and someone spoke up, they might find the speaker meddling....so if that is the case....I am not meddling so much as I am saying...your signals are intercepted by my somewhat informed ears. Again, my continuing studies of western civilization comes with some reservations...can I study western civilization and avoid legal (Kant) precedents, logical reasoning (Aristotle and Plato) and abide by the code of not judging (St. Augustine). Does this pursuit come with a loving, parental care and gentle nudging, much like some one who would take away the power to hurt.
