I myself use the word tattie/tatty when I talk about potatoes. I have been told its not proper English so to speak but Im from Yorkshire and all my family have called them the same as me so those out there, call them what you want its not posh to call them potatoes because its just a word for a vegetable ok and its recognised in the Collins Dictionary.
