I need a little advice. Please let me know you thoughts as to if I could have handled this different or if You think I did the right thing. I met a customer at her workplace to give her her item and get payment. The item was a 70$ bracelet. She tried it on and informed me she forgot her checkbook and asked if I have change. I didnt have change. She was still wearing the bracelet and informed me she had to go out to her car to get money so she could pay me. I said Ok, but can you give me the bracelet back while you go do this? She gave it back, went and got change and as she was giving me payment said what did you think I was going to rip you off or something? That soured me. To this I replied I was sorry, I was just being careful since it was a high ticket item. Later I told my bf about it and he pointed put that would a retail store allow you to wear merchandise out to your car even though you said youd be back in with payment? I dont think so.
