I need some advice. The restoration of my GSXR750J (with just 420 miles on the clock) is coming along but I now need to attack the corrosion on the frame, most of which is very visible of course. My problem is that when Ive tried using wetndry, going through all the grit types up to 1,5000 grit, I end up with a finish that is too shiny (even more so with clear lacquer over the top). If I stop at say 800 grit, the finish is about the right lustre but the sanding marks are still visible. How do I get rid of the deep rust spots but end up with the right finish?
