I need some advice on a commission Im doing. Ive been commissioned by someone to do a rather large digital piece. They want to be able to print it at 20W x 35H. When I do up those dimensions in photoshop it comes out to 16000 pixels W x 28000 pixels H. However, when I try to paint in on this enormous canvas the computer seems to lag just a tiny bit with the brush strokes. It seems to be just a tad slow keeping up with me. So my question is this. What should I do to make this process easier? Should I just bare with the sluggish brush strokes, or should i work at a smaller resolution and just blow it up later? I fear if i do this it will ruin the resolution of the printed image. Any thoughts?
