I need some opinions... Recently we heard through our media statements from Western officials how IS is making approximately 1 million $ per day from selling the oil. Although the price of crude oil today is around 77$ (WTI) and 82$ (Brent) ( bloomberg/energy/ ), IS allegedly selling the oil on much lesser prices, some reports says around 20$ per barrel, but we cant say for sure. I did the small research, simple mathematics included, and for the price of 1 million $, with international oil prices, we can get around 12,800 barrels of crude oil. And to sell it, the delivery must be made. From fields in Syria and Iraq its pipelines and possibly tank trucks. The tank trucks have the capacity from 20,800 to 43,900 liters, so if we take some average figure, lets say 35,000 liters, 1 million $ in oil can fit in more than 50 trucks. And with the IS price which is way under the half of the international price, that could lead from 120 to 150 trucks per day. Its not easy to transport that amount of oil, and Coalition forces are striking the pipelines which are directly connected to Turkey. And those trucks can only drive toward Turkey. So, as we all know from before, Turkey is the primary, if not the only buyer of that oil, or at least the transition country. But I raise my doubts of efficiency of those strikes on pipelines be cause that large number of trucks is a large logistics business and it couldnt be made without noticing. And no one in the media is raising that question...
