I need to rant.....so bare with me......As a law abiding tax payer, I do not mind paying taxes to help those truly in need. For example, those who are truly disabled and need social services to help them live a comfortable life. Today I tried to advocate for my friend who is 91 years old and has cerebral palsy and no family to help support her financially. My friend needs all her teeth out as she is in pain. She has no money. She needs a consultation (as recommended by a dentist) to see a oral surgeon. I KNOW that the consultation alone is expensive. Before I call for the consultation I called Social Services to see if the consultation could be paid for by Social Services (which we all pay into through our taxes). Social Services do not pay for consultations. I am to get the consultation and send the expected cost into Social Services to see if I can get approval for $300.00 from them for actual work done. I guess I have to beg the surgeon for a freebee. My friend is the reason why I gladly pay taxes to help the disabled. End of rant......thanks for listening
