I need to share a sad news with all of you: Sunday will be the last day of Cafe de Paris. After 16 years of loyal and dedicated service, the Cafe will close its doors for ever. You need to know how hard this decision was to make: an American concept bought over our location, I am pleased to say they have done a great job in their first operation and will bring to Columbia a healthy, friendly and quality Tavern style restaurant that you will all appreciate...because as we did at the Cafe, they put their heart in it. Nevertheless, it is hard to close a door even if, as my friend Jacques told me, an other door opens. You have no idea of the amount of special attention, friendship, loving testimonies and dedication these 16 years brought me. It is hard to imagine a life without all of you showing up at the door, calling me or giving me a sign when you have been too long away from us, ordering a wine from my special reserve etc..... These memories will en light my future as the sailor needs the lighthouse to locate himself. Thank you for your presence, smiles, hugs, comments and true love for what we did as a passion. If you managed to read my prose until this paragraph, please note that we will have the pleasure to welcome you once more again on Friday and Saturday with a special touch....live Jazz with Chauncey, Phill and your host from 6.30 to 9.30. We will celebrate this farewell in tune, music and as usual passion for people who believe in these values, including good food, love and friendship. So see you very soon for a nice goodbye but not an adieu. As we say in French, partir, cest mourir un peu so dont leave too fast!
