I need to vent.... for just a second! :) It seems to me in the last 3 to 4 weeks videos are popping up all over social media like CRAZY of law enforcement officers arresting people. All of a sudden people are actively looking for opportunities to catch law enforcement doing their job. There have always been criminals resisting arrest and law enforcement having to be aggressive in order to keep themselves and others safe. There have always been criminals going after police officers and trying to hurt them, get their gun, fleeing, etc in order to get out of paying consequences for their bad choices. I am not saying ALL police officers are stand up guys, but I would safely bet 90% are doing their job for the right reason, doing it to the best of their ability and handling people exactly how that person chose to be handled. These videos that are being posted are showing criminals being stupid, trying to get out of consequences for their bad decisions and people posting these videos are showing criminals as the victims. Not only that but then I have to constantly read how ALL cops are ego driven, power hungry, bullying pigs. (There are other words I have read to describe them these were just the nicest.) These men and women that go out on the street every day and every night work 12-16 hour days for VERY little money. They are constantly in protective mode even when they are not on duty. Their families have to live with others coming first because that is what they have sworn to do. They would give their lives for each other and innocent civilians. (how many people can say that?) No, not all law enforcement is this way, but MOST are. They are not doing this job for any other reason except they feel called to protect and serve society. Please before you assume that cops are running off power trips and naturally jerks step back and consider that the guy they are on top of and holding down probably just tried to punch the cop or grabbed for his gun. Before you get mad and think he is filling his quota for pulling you over because you rolled a stop sign consider he may have just been to a call minutes earlier where someone else rolled a stop sign and hit a child on a bike. Before you assume he is speeding down the road with no lights on because he thinks he is better and can speed and you cant consider he may be on the way to assist a situation, but doesnt want to alarm others. These men and women are not out to get anyone, they dont want to ruin your life, they want to do 2 things. Protect and Serve. They are a son, a father, a husband, a brother, and a person too. They are just doing THEIR job like you do yours. Obey the law and you wont have to deal with them, but go ahead and assume if you see them doing their job that person has chosen NOT to obey the law. *end of rant*
