I needed hope, after that Russia resolution passed the other day. Well, we lost this one, too. They did it how they always do: Sneak it in at the last moment late in the session, and only have a vote with whomever happens to be there at that time. So why do I have hope? Justin Amash , thats why. He was one of the ten that voted against the Russia resolution. He was the one that wrote the USA Freedom Act.. which he then had to vote against, because they snuck an extension of the Patriot Act in there. He was the one that wrote the bill after the Snowden revelations to stop the mass bulk data gathering (lost by seven votes, and NOT split among party lines... just like this recent one) He is the one that explains, and attends, every single vote (We say we want transparency. Wouldnt we actually have that if they all did this?). I heart Justin Amash. The Republican establishment keeps using their war chests to fight him in the primaries, they outspend by many factors, and they keep losing. The people know what they have in him. With all the complaining in politics... its nice to have someone to believe in and respect... and thats why I have hope. Thank you for existing, Justin.
