I needed to remind myself of this one today..... When God gives you a special needs child, He especially equips you for this special ministry. You were not punished. You were entrusted. Entrusted to find a way to nurture the magnificence and genius in this wonderful and specially gifted child. When you have to go to school to specially advocate, know that you are specially ready, even if you don’t feel properly prepared. Whatever you don’t know... God will send a special person, a special resource or a special insight to help you do what you need to do. Don’t forget that Special does not only mean particular or out of the ordinary, it also means extraordinary incomparable, and exceptional. So stop comparing your child’s development to other children. He is incomparable and uniquely made.
