I needed today to fix some deficiencies in my life - mainly, scheduling conflicts that needed a little bit of elbow grease. First, however.. I ran to a bookstore - the Almaden Plaza Barnes and Noble.. and bought a few books from this list: huffingtonpost/julie-buntin-/10-novels-that-will-scare_b_4156089.html Hopefully, they will tide me over for awhile. After the books, I walked over to Costco cause I missed their pizza and had a slice. After this brief jaunt, I ran back home to collect my Final Transcripts that I had forgotten on my way out the door previously, then jet over to San Jose State where I chanced upon an elderly man, asking for money - for food. He was ordinary in almost every way: clean, well spoken if only a little quiet, and pleasant enough. I didnt have any change however, but I offered him a cigarette and he took it. Soon after depositing my transcripts and noting I had roughly 20 minutes left on my parking permit.. I decided to walk over to the 7-11 behind SJSUs Admissions building, whereupon I bought two of their gigantic hotdogs, a bottle of water, and some chips. I walked back over to the older fellow and said, Hey bro, you still hungry? And he replied with, No, Im not hungry. I just need money. I was confused for a moment, but I smiled. You sure? You got any friends who might need a meal? I dont think so. I live over at this house on 10th over there. A shelter. Maybe you could walk over there and see if anyone needs it. Alright boss. You take care. As I turned to leave, he stopped me and said, You know what? Youre a nice guy. Not too many people like you. I nodded, smiled, and waved goodbye. It didnt take long to find someone who needed the food too.
